Raw
Material Handling

Raw materials can be handled in a variety of ways. Molten
sulphur is typically either stored in an underground storage
tank or an above ground tank, both would typically be steam
jacketed tanks. The molten sulphur is typically stored as
close as possible to the Omni-Drop unit(s).
Bentonite and other materials such as micronutrient oxides
can be stored either in bulk or packaged. The most important
part of a storage plan for bentonite and micronutrient oxides
is to design this part of the facility such that the materials
can be easily unloaded and easily weighed prior to mixing
with the molten sulphur. Materials with different weights
must be able to be metered properly when being added to the
molten sulphur to ensure the highest level of quality control
is being achieved.
