Advantages
of the Omni-Drop Process for Sulphur Bentonite
and Sulphur Forming
Process

• Flexibility - very easy to switch from product to
product with minimal
downtime product waste (i.e. offspec product generation)
• Heat transfer - indirect, no contact between product
and cooling medium
• Crystallization - well defined cooling time
• Product quality - controllable through cooling time/belt
speed, sulphur
temperature, and sulphur pressure
• Environment - low sound and dust emission; use of
a closed cooling water
system means no contamination of water
Utilities

• Low electricity consumption (no natural gas for cooling)
• Low water consumption (typically cooling water is recirculated)
• Low compressed air and instrument air consumption
Equipment

• Low weights and small dimensions of components, as a result:
o small foundations required
o simple lifting devices for erection
Maintenance

• Easy maintenance during operation
• Essential components accessible from the floor without auxiliary
equipment
• Few, light and easily mountable spare parts
• Quick start-up of plant for reduced downtime
• Reduced staff requirements
Advantages
of the Omni-Drop Pastille

Sulphur bentonite pastilles are globally accepted as being
premium quality product. They deliver the following significant
benefits:
• Controlled release conversion for optimum sulphur
and/or NPK and
micronutrient fertility throughout the growing
season
• Low-risk of leaching losses for maximum efficiency
of nutrient and minimized
environmental risk
• Dust is virtually eliminated by the product uniformity
delivered by the drop
formed manufacturing process
• Plus 95% product uniformity and pastille size control
lead to excellent blending
characteristics with other fertilizers
90% Sulphur in a blend with Ammonium Nitrate, Mono Ammonium
Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, and Ammonium Sulphate
• Sulphur bentonite products can act as an excellent
soil amendment for high pH
soils when applied at high rates
• The high analysis products result in less handling,
less storage, and reduced
freight
Considering that various stages of handling, transport,
and storage mean that formed sulphur bentonite can be moved
as many as 8-10 times between production and re-use, a great
deal of attention needs to be given to low friability and
subsequently low dust generation. The Omni-Drop process
fulfills this requirement perfectly.
